Okay, for the last of this series I want to introduce you to three more tools
you must acquire to start making money online. Don’t worry, these are all
free!

The first one is a FTP program which stands for File Transfer Protocol. You
will use this to upload all your files to your hosting company, like Hostgator,
so that visitors will be able to access them on the web.

The easiest FTP program for this purpose is Filizilla. Just type the url
http://filezilla-project.org/ into your browser to download the software
to your harddrive and create an icon on your desktop for easy access.
When opening Filezilla, enter the details you received from Hostgator
such as host, username and password.

Then you need a payment processor in order to send and receive payments
online. The quickest, easiest and safest is www.Paypal.com an international
company. They do not ask for any paperwork , credit checks or approval.
Choose a business account with which you can process any amount of work.
Also be sure to add your bank and credit card account in order to avoid any
payment hassles.

The final site I would recommend you join is Clickbank which is the largest
digital marketplace online. In order to sell products as an affiliate or to recruit
affiliates to sell for you, Clickbank is the number one choice for marketers.
You can earn up to 70% commission on products.

After completing your signup, Clickbank will send you your username and
password. Make sure you write down your Clicbank -generated password
as you will not be able to view it again.

In this 2nd last article I want to give you a quick introduction to the
“tools of the trade”. These are the basic tools you must have in order
to succeed in your online business.

The first one you will need is a domain name. This is the address on
the internet where people can reach you, just like in an offline company.
This will help to establish and lend immediate credibility to your business,
showing that you are not a fly-by-night.

There are numerous registrars where you can choose and register your
domain name but my recommendation is NameCheap which is one of
the most afforable companies on the net. You may pickup a .com domain
from them for about $10 per annum.

The second ‘must have’ is an hosting account where you can house your
domain so that your website can be displayed on the world wide web.
The hosting company I advise is Hostgator which is used by most success-
ful online marketers. You can obtain a beginners option(Baby plan) from
them for a mere $8 per month. There are also six-monthly and yearly options.

The third all-important tool you need to acquire is an autoresponder. This
allows you to build an email list of subscribers who you can then convert to
customers. You may have heard the most famous phrase in online marketing,
“the money is in the list”. The autoresponder will build that list for you on
autopilot.

You may choose between two of the most popular and equally reliable ones,
namely, Aweber and Getresponse. You can start with Aweber for a $1 monthly
trial period and then $20 per month. Getresponse offers a free option(only up
to 100 subscribers) and a paid option starting at about$15 per month.

Today I want to talk to you about three things that could jeopardise
your attempts at succeeding with internet marketing.

Firstly, there are a lot of scammers trying to earn a quick buck off
gullible newbies(beginners). They are not interested in you but only
in making a profit out of you. There method consists in offering a
get-rich -quick-scheme as in offline ventures. They use smooth-talking
videos, enticing salesletters and screenshot accounts from Clickbank
whick, in many instances, are fake. Talk to someone you can trust and
are experienced in internet marketing before thinking of committing yourself.

Secondly, you may have heard the terms “shiny objects”, “the next big
thing”, “set and forget”, “my grandmother could do it”, ‘three click wonder”,
“the magic formula” etcetera. Don’t fall for it. Let me assure you, and I
have the backing of all successful marketers, there are no magic products
that will give you instant riches. Again, before buying a product, discuss it with
someone trustworthy or/and enquire about it on the forums.

The third thing that could throw a spanner in the works concerning one’s
online career, is that all-important email inbox!

The reason for this is the amount of emails one is bombarded with on a
daily basis and more importantly, the amount of TIME one spends in opening
and reading them. Before you know it, the day is gone and you’ve not taken
any concrete steps to advance your online business . You have allowed your-
self to be distracted!

Take my advice, check your emails just once per day and use a private address
relevant to your marketing business and a general address for all other emails.

Right, now that you realise the importance of having a positive frame of mind,
you need to familiarise yourself with the number #1 hindrance to succeeding
online. A survey taken (with regard to the biggest hindrance), resulted in the
following response: “I’m suffering from information overload! ”

INFORMATION OVERLOAD is the number #1 enemy to internet success. The
decade of the nineties was described as the “nanosecond nineties”- fast and
furious. The 21st century is even faster and technology has made so much
information available that people’s minds are bursting whilst their bodies are
breaking.

No wonder people are having great difficulty in concentrating on ONE thing.
The Oprah show revealed a teenager texting while sleeping!
She(Oprah) also requested thousands to sign a pledge not to do texting while
driving. The human being has been designed to do one thing at a time, i.e.
if you want to do it effectively.

On the internet everyone is screaming for your attention. Therefore, it is vital
that you choose one marketing method and go with it. In order to do this I would
advise you to join some forums like Warrior Forum and Honestworkfromhome
Forum and just spend a few days reading the questions/answers found in the
threads written by marketers. You don’t have to pay a cent for the advice given
here on ways to succeed online.

Once you’ve decided on a niche and marketing method, give your attention to
it exclusively, UNTIL you have mastered it. Remember…

I believe in the acronym “KISS” – keep it simple stupid. I’m not going to bore you
with the usual BD(bull dust) of how I struggled all my life and how much money
I’m making now on the internet. What I will mention is that I am qualified to teach
you to be successful online because I myself have been taught by the best in
Internet Marketing and who are making millions per annum. These are recognised
and reputable marketers such as John Thornhill, Eric Holmlund and Maria Gudelis.
You can look them up on Google.

So, lets get started. The number one requirement is having the correct mindset
and attitude. EVERYTHING starts with the mind. The Bible says “As a man thinks
so is he”. If you think you will fail, you will and conversely, if you think you will
succeed, you will. Thought is the most powerful thing we possess and it is true
that “faith can move mountains”.

Just like playing tennis or golf, once you’ve learnt and conquered the basics such
as fitness and tecnique, all things being equal, ninety nine percent of winning
depends on your state of mind. You see, as in those games with its ever changing
nature, there are hurdles to cross in working online which many so-called “gurus”
do not tell you about as all they are interested in is your money.

The internet is still an untapped goldmine and its open to “the man in the street”
like you and me. The beauty of an online business as opposed to brick-and-mortar
business is that iro the former you don’t need staff to train and pay and neither do you
need a building with its overhead expenses. You can work from the comfort of your home.

Golfer Arnold Palmer has won hundreds of trophies but apparently he never flaunts these.
On his office wall is a lone framed plaque which reads:
